Greenwash=Hogwash

(Among the great successes of greenwashing is Chevron’s 20-year “People Do” ad campaign, touting smiling, multicultural Chevron employees devoted to protecting the environment at Chevron facilities. People who saw the commercials were 10 percent more likely to buy Chevron gasoline, believing it was the oil company most likely to protect the environment. As the CorpWatch definition notes, the synonym for this deception is “hogwash.”)
